FIRST® LEGO League

FIRST® LEGO League is a competition designed for elementary and middle school students that serves as an introduction to robotics for young children. Students in this competition are required to build a LEGO robot that solves multiple challenges while preparing a project on a real-world problem based on a theme.

At the 2024-2025 Submerged official scrimmage, the team placed 2nd. At the Wake County qualifier held at Southern Guilford High School, they achieved 3rd place overall, 4th in robot performance, and 2nd in the Core Values Award. Their impressive performance earned them a spot in the NC State Championship.

The OrcaBots, a team of 8, competed in the 2024-2025 FIRST® LEGO League season with a focus on energy conservation. They built a LEGO robot to complete missions and developed a mechanical timer prototype to reduce energy waste by turning off household lights.
